OVERTIME: OSU 78 XAVIER 71
By John Chandler
Mike Conley is ready for a flight to San Antonio.
Ohio State's freshman guard scores the first three baskets in overtime... this time, it's Xavier's bench that looks stunned. The thing about Conley, he gets lost in all of Greg Oden's hype, but he's quietly one of the country's best players.
Daequan Cook buries a three from right in front of his wide-eyed coach, Thad Matta for a 72-64 lead with 2:00 to play. In a related story, the weather forecast for San Antonio next week calls for partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the 70's.
FINAL: OSU 78 XAVIER 71
MVP: Conley's 21 (11 in overtime) were big, but were not possible without Lewis (27 points) and his tying three.
